Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
NRG Financial Services (Australian Credit Licence 384496), referred to as “NRGFS”, “we”, “us” or “our”, values your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information and credit-related information.
We handle your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and, where it applies to credit information, Part IIIA of the Privacy Act and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2014 (CR Code). By providing your information to us, or by using this website, you consent to us handling it as described below.
1. The information we collect
The information we collect depends on what you ask us to do. It generally includes:
- Personal information: your name, date of birth, contact details, residential and employment history, marital and dependant details, and identification documents (such as your driver licence or passport).
- Financial information: your income, assets, liabilities, expenses, account and transaction details, and the goals and objectives you have for your finances.
- Credit information and credit eligibility information: details of credit you have applied for or hold, repayment history, credit scores, and information we obtain from credit reporting bodies and credit providers.
- Sensitive information: we generally do not collect sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary (for example, health information relevant to a hardship application) and you have consented.
- Website information: technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
2. How we collect it
Wherever practical we collect information directly from you: through our website forms, over the phone, by email or in person. Sometimes we also collect it from third parties, including credit reporting bodies, credit providers and lenders, your accountant or financial planner, your nominated referrer, and government and identity-verification services. We only do so where you have consented or where the law permits.
3. Why we collect and use it
We collect and use your information so we can:
- understand your needs, objectives and financial situation;
- provide credit assistance: researching options and preparing and submitting applications to lenders on your behalf;
- meet our responsible-lending and best interest duty obligations (ASIC RG209);
- manage our relationship with you, including ongoing reviews and support;
- comply with our legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws; and
- where you have not opted out, tell you about products and services that may be relevant to you.
4. Who we disclose it to
We may disclose your information to:
- banks, credit providers and lenders on our panel, in order to arrange your finance;
- our mortgage aggregator and licensee, and our professional advisers and insurers;
- credit reporting bodies (see section 5);
- our service providers, such as IT, customer-relationship-management, document-preparation and identity-verification providers;
- your nominated representatives, such as your partner, accountant, solicitor or financial planner; and
- regulators, courts and law-enforcement agencies where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Credit reporting
In arranging credit we may disclose your information to, and collect information about you from, credit reporting bodies. A credit reporting body may include the information we give them in reports provided to other credit providers to assess your creditworthiness.
You have the right to:
- ask a credit reporting body not to use your credit information for direct-marketing pre-screening by credit providers; and
- ask a credit reporting body not to use or disclose your credit information if you reasonably believe you have been, or are likely to be, a victim of fraud.
Each credit reporting body has its own policy on managing your credit information, which is available on request or on their website.
6. Direct marketing
From time to time we may let you know about products, services and offers we think may interest you. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our communications or by contacting us using the details below. We will not use credit reporting information for direct marketing.
7. Disclosure outside Australia
Some of our service providers (for example, cloud-hosting and software providers) may store or process information outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those recipients handle your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Keeping your information secure
We hold your information in secure electronic and physical forms, and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep your information only for as long as it is needed or required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Cookies and our website
Our website uses cookies and analytics tools to help it work properly and to understand how it is used, so we can improve it. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, although some parts of the site may not function as intended if you do.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. In some limited circumstances the law allows us to decline a request, in which case we will explain why in writing.
