Home Loans

Understand your borrowing position before you buy.

Buying a home involves a great deal of terminology and detail. We explain it clearly, identify suitable lenders from a panel of more than 40, and guide you from pre-approval through to settlement.

Homes across the Newcastle to Sydney corridor.

First home buyers

NSW grants and schemes, clearly explained.

If you are buying your first home in NSW, you may be eligible for grants or concessions. We’ll check what applies to your circumstances and factor it into your plan.

First Home Owner Grant (New Homes)

A one-off grant for eligible buyers building or buying a brand-new home under the value cap. We’ll confirm whether your purchase fits and help you claim it.

First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme

Stamp (transfer) duty exemptions or concessions for eligible first home buyers below the thresholds, often the biggest saving of the lot.

First Home Guarantee

A federal scheme that can let eligible buyers purchase with a smaller deposit and skip Lenders Mortgage Insurance, subject to places and caps.

Heads up: grant and scheme eligibility, value caps and thresholds change and depend on your circumstances. The figures and rules are set by Revenue NSW and the federal government. We’ll check the current detail against your situation before you rely on anything.

Estimate only. Not an offer of credit, a pre-approval or a quote. Figures exclude fees, LMI and any comparison rate. NRG Financial Services considers your full situation under our best interest duty before recommending anything.

The lending process

From first conversation to settlement.

01

Pre-approval

We help you understand your realistic borrowing range and work towards pre-approval, so you can look at properties with confidence.

02

Find your home

You search for a property, and we are available to review the numbers and any applicable grants on the homes you are seriously considering.

03

Formal approval

Once you have found a property, we help you apply for a suitable loan, liaise with the lender and manage the valuation and approval process.

04

Settlement

We work with your solicitor or conveyancer and the lender to coordinate settlement, then check in after you have moved in.

Clear paperwork requirements

We explain what documents you need to provide and why, so there are fewer surprises along the way.

A lender that suits your situation

We look for a lender whose policies suit your circumstances, including any considerations specific to first home buyers.

At your pace

Whether you are buying for the first time and have many questions, or you are an experienced buyer who prefers a faster process, we work to suit you.

Want to know more?

A conversation is a sensible place to start. We’ll look at your numbers personally and give you a clear view, whether that points to a change or to leaving your loan as it is.
